Dolphins vs. Ravens LIVE

The Dolphins offense looked better last week against the Jets. They were pushing the ball downfield. The offense seemed to finally have turned the corner and was clicking. Both with Cutler, and to an even greater extent Moore. Now the question becomes how much of that was for real? Have the Dolphins finally figured out their offensive woes? Will the change to Moore spur the offense to finally put up the numbers they should be capable of? Or was last week’s success just a flash in the pan?

Dolphins vs. Ravens LIVE

If the Dolphins want to avoid falling into an early hole like they have each of the past two weeks, they need to channel the sort of offense that they were running in the final quarter of last week’s game. It was a more downfield passing attack, the likes of which haven’t been seen in Miami this season. Those two trains of thought may sound counter-intuitive, but that’s what Moore brings to the table. He has a mind to push the ball downfield, sometimes in spite of his better judgement. Keeping it simple, in this sense, is letting Moore do what he does best. Embrace the change,

The Dolphins defense is playing like one of the best in the league after some early struggles. They’re flying around the field and finally making plays in both the run and pass games. If the Dolphins offense can play like the squad that showed up in the second half last week, Miami should walk away victorious. A win will push Miami to 5-2 on the season, and help them keep pace with the New England Patriots in the division. It’s shaping up to be a wild second half of the season. But as we all know, it’s one game at a time. First Baltimore, then the world.

We’ll find out the answers to those questions early this week, as the Dolphins face a Thursday game after an emotional victory against a division rival. Here are the keys to another Dolphins victory.

Betting Odds

Point Spread: Baltimore -3
Moneyline: Miami +150, Baltimore -170
Over/Under: 37.5

Odds via Sportsbook Review

Prediction

Miami is definitely behind the proverbial 8-ball coming into this game. They have a short week. They’re coming off not one, but two emotional comebacks. Most of all, they’re without their starting quarterback. All this against a defense known for its aggressive, physical play. Together, that all sounds like a recipe for disaster for the Dolphins. However, the Ravens struggles on offense have proven largely insurmountable this season, and I believe that trend will continue on Thursday.

The Miami Dolphins come into Baltimore to face the Ravens battered and bruised. Yet, despite all the set-backs, Miami sits near the top of the AFC East at 4-2. Two weeks ago, the Dolphins found themselves in a 17-point hole at halftime, then reeled off 20 straight to come roaring back against the Atlanta Falcons. Last week the Dolphins again found themselves down big late, this time down by two touchdowns heading into the final quarter against the New York Jets. But again, the Dolphins persevered and came away with the victory.

A victory that came at a hefty price; however, as the Dolphins lost starting quarterback Jay Cutler for at least one week to multiple cracked ribs. Now, yet again, the Dolphins have to scramble to fill a void left by an injured quarterback. That void will be filled by long-time Dolphins backup Matt Moore. Moore performed well coming off the bench cold. Now, he has a short week to prepare as the starter and faces a team known for its tough, physical play.

Giants vs. Cowboys live stream: Watch Week 1 online

The New York Giants play the Dallas Cowboys in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX on Sunday, September 10. Here is all the info you need to watch.

Things just got interesting for the Sunday Night Football matchup between the home team Dallas Cowboys and the visiting New York Giants. It was confirmed on Tuesday night that star running back Ezekiel Elliott will play in the season opener as the legal battle between the NFL and the NFLPA ensues to decide whether or not he can be suspended.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys Live

For one night at least the drama is put on hold and Elliott will set out to defend his 2016 NFL rushing title. As a rookie the fourth overall pick rushed for 1,631 yards and 15 touchdowns, but had one bad game all year — the season opener against the Giants. In his professional debut Elliott had just 2.6 yards per rush and managed only 51 yards. He redeemed himself later in the year, but the Cowboys themselves lost both games to the Giants.

The Giants finished 11-5 and despite beating the Cowboys twice, they were unable to win the NFC East. They now hope a revamped offense featuring receiver Brandon Marshall and rookie tight end Evan Engram. Their real strength is the defense. They feature two of the best pass rushers in the game in Olivier Vernon and Jason Pierre-Paul at defensive end and a shut down corner in Janoris Jenkins.

The details for Sunday’s game are below:

Date: Sunday, September, 10
Start time: 8:30 P.M. EST
Location: Arlington, TX
Stadium: AT&T Stadium
TV Info: NBC
Live Stream: NBC Sports, FuboTV, NFL Game Pass

The Giants will have their hands full with not only Zeke but also quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver Dez Bryant. They may have made matters worse when head coach Ben McAdoo poked the bear saying he didn’t care who Dallas had at running back because there would be no room to run. Now the players will try and cash his check against arguably the best offensive line in the game and a pissed off Ezekiel Elliott.

Los Angeles Chargers: 3 Bold predictions vs Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are all set to square off on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Take a look at three bold predictions for the game.

The 2017 NFL regular season is finally here, as the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos will be playing at Sports Authority Field on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Newly-hires head coach Anthony Lynn will be looking for his first win in Los Angeles, but he has a tough task ahead of him in the Mile High city.

These two teams last met up on Oct. 30, 2016 with the Broncos getting an eight-point win over their division-rivals at home. Division games always bring out the best in everyone, especially the veterans. Look for Philip Rivers to have a huge game against the Broncos this weekend,

That being said, take a look at the Chargers and Broncos most recent matchups, courtesy of Pro Football Reference:

Oct. 30, 2016: Los Angeles Chargers (19) at Denver Broncos (27)
Oct. 13, 2016: Denver Broncos (13) at Los Angeles Chargers (21)
Jan. 3, 2016: Los Angeles Chargers (20) at Denver Broncos (27)
Dec. 6, 2015: Denver Broncos (17) at Los Angeles Chargers (3)

As you can seen above, even though the games between these franchises have been close, it’s been Denver with the upper hand. To put in perspective just how dominant the Broncos have been over the Chargers, Denver is 10-2 against the Bolts in their last 12 games — that’s just plain ridiculous.

Just knowing how much the Broncos have their their number since 2011, the Chargers should have a ton of motivation heading into their match-up with Denver this weekend. That being said, take a look at three bold predictions for the game.

Los Angeles Chargers: Weather report for Week 1 vs Broncos

The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos will be squaring off on Monday Night Football in Week 1. Take a look at the early weather report.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos are less than a week away from playing in their first regular season game of the 2017 season. While playing under the bright lights of Monday Night Football is always entertaining, there’s nothing better than a divisional matchup to open the season.

That being said, we know how easily weather can affect the outcomes of football games, especially in the NFL. Denver’s weather usually gets pretty darn cold during the regular season, but luckily for the west coast Chargers, they get to travel east in early September.

Los Angeles Chargers vs Denver Broncos

Take a look at the weather report for the Chargers and Broncos matchup on Monday night from the Weather Channel:

Forecast: Sunny
Temperature: High of 85 degrees, Low of 58 degrees
Wind: N at 5-10 MPH
Precipitation: 0 percent chance

Fans and players alike couldn’t ask for better conditions in this game on Monday.

While these conditions favor both teams, I believe they give the Chargers the best opportunity to win. Los Angeles has, arguably, the most dangerous passing attack in the AFC West with Philip Rivers returning at quarterback and Keenan Allen fully recovered from his knee injury.

Not to mention, Chargers’ running back Melvin Gordon has recovered from his nagging injuries in 2016 as well.

Needless to say, no rain equals a greater chance for both teams to throw the football with precision, but again, that favors Los Angeles more than it does Denver.

Saints vs. Vikings: Preview, score prediction for Week 1

New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings

Headlining the first Monday Night Football game are the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings. The stakes are high for both teams in this first game including how the Vikings will fare without Adrian Peterson leading their offense and if the Saints defense will show up.

The Saints have one of the best offenses in the league but are always stifled by a poor defense. During the offseason, the team made great strides to improve their defense and they had a stellar preseason. This game will be their first outing against a first-team offense and see if they’re actually worth the hype or if it was a couple favorable preseason matchups.

As for the Vikings, they lost Adrian Peterson to New Orleans and lost some other good free agents. The team has the exact opposite problem of the Saints, though. They have an extremely talented defense, but not such a great offense. With Sam Bradford at the helm last year, the Vikings started off strong before falling flat.

This first game will be a test for both teams, heading into the regular season. A win for either team could already have playoff buzz behind it or murmurs of another mediocre season. Us football fans are always quick to jump the gun but there are a few sure-fire ways the teams can succeed.

Keys to Victory

For the Saints, the keys to victory are pretty obvious and it’s making sure the defense shows up and plays to win. The Saints have one of the leading offenses in the NFL, but are always hampered by poor defensive play. In this first game, the Saints defense needs to show their preseason outings weren’t a fluke. Bolstered by the young guys like Marshon Lattimore, Vonn Bell, Marcus Williams and Alex Anzalone, the young guys need to step up and show they’re more than the hype.

Older guys like Cameron Jordan and A.J. Klein are going to the backbone of the defense. The veterans need to make sure they guide the younger guys and keep the defense going. There’s not much to worry about on offense even with the suspension of Snead, but the defense is going to have to play their heart out on the field.

As for the Vikings, they need to keep their offense going strong and show they’re more than just an afterthought. A lot of praise is heaped on the Vikings defense and the same could be said for their offense, but they need to help Bradford. Bradford will be entering his second year with the team and now is the time for him to prove he was worthy of the trade.

Their carousel of running backs needs to come together, but especially Dalvin Cook. Cook is their answer at running back and he needs to put up some good runs. Along with Kyle Rudolph, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, the Vikings need to get an early head start if they plan on beating the Saints. If the offense can stay on the field and give the defense a break, the Vikings should be in good shape.

Odds

Point Spread: Minnesota -3.5
Moneyline: New Orleans +150, Minnesota -165
Over/Under: 48

Prediction

While a lot of people are picking the Vikings, the Saints have a chance for victory and could edge out the Vikings. Most of it will rely on how well their defense plays, but if the offense and defense can’t keep it together, it’s the Saints game to lose. Neither team is perfect, but I see the Saints as a more well-rounded one. The game will be close regardless.

Chiefs vs. Patriots live stream: Watch Week 1 online

NFL Week 1 of the 2017 season is finally here. As is the annual tradition, things will get kicked off with a Thursday Night Football showdown as the defending champion hosts the opening game. Last season was a rematch as the Carolina Panthers were defeated for a second-time in a row by the Denver Broncos — who had knocked them off in Super Bowl 50.

This time it will be the New England Patriots, fresh off the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in Super Bowl history, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. These two teams came close to battling for the AFC title, but the No. 2 seeded Chiefs saw their 12-4 season come to an end at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Chiefs vs. Patriots live stream: Watch Week 1 online

They now try to get their seasons off to another great start, but there is some drama surrounding them. After losing in the post season they decided it was time to improve at quarterback and they made a big move for Patrick Mahomes out of Texas Tech. He still is on the bench as they continue to roll with Alex Smith. It will be interesting to see how the veteran looks with a young gun lurking over his shoulder.

New England enters on the heels of a 25-point come back, which ended up being the first ever game to go to overtime in Super Bowl history. They look to defend their fifth championship, but have to do so without their top wide receiver as Julian Edelman tore his ACL in the preseason.

Details for Thursday’s game are below

Date: Thursday, Sept. 7
Start Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
Location:  Foxborough, MA
Stadium: Gillette Stadium
TV Info: NBC
Live Stream: NFL Sunday Ticket, FuboTV, NFL Game Pass for replays

Tune in and watch two teams that should be playing well into January. The Pats and the Chiefs will kick off Week 1 with high aspirations for their 2017 season.

College Football Week 2 schedule and predictions

The first week of college football was absolutely thrilling. Alabama vs. Florida State was a defensive thriller, led by Nick Saban’s unit. While it was tough to see QB Deondre Francois’ season come to an end, the Seminoles’ defense should be elite this season.

Michigan vs. Florida provided some fireworks in the first half, but the better team led by Jim Harbaugh pulled away in the third and fourth quarters. Josh Rosen and UCLA engineered one of the greatest comebacks ever witnessed in college football. We’re still trying to figure out how Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M let it happen.

Tennessee and Georgia Tech gave us a glimpse of OT football and gutsy play-calling. Ohio State and Washington struggled on the road early, but managed to show why they’re the better team against lesser opponents.

Oklahoma, Clemson and Penn State took care of business at home in grand fashion, while USC sputtered to a last-minute victory.

Most of the top-25 teams left Week 1 unscathed, except for the two Florida teams — the Seminoles and Gators.

Looking ahead to Week 2, there are more fantastic matchups lined up, so let’s take a look at the full schedule for the top 25 teams in the nation, along with a quick preview and prediction for the five best games.

Patriots vs Chiefs Live NFL Streaming

First-round fantasy football picks don’t win titles. Late-round sleepers are what win titles. Anyone knows to draft Jordy Nelson over J.J. Nelson, but knowing whether to target each Nelson at their specific draft slotting is key. Jordy will help you not lose, but J.J. could help you win.

We have six late round sleepers and bargains who will ensure your victory this season. Win Fantasy Football in 2017 by outsmarting your league and picking these players.

Two brothers from New York, Dan Salem and Todd Salem, debate Fantasy Football in today’s NFL Sports Debate.

What is a sleeper?

Technically, anyone can be a sleeper if you think their production will surpass their average draft position. The former Nelson could be a sleeper if you think as such and he ends up being the best player in fantasy this year. After all, he’s being selected in the second round in most drafts. But that’s not what most people mean when they say sleeper. Let’s make some qualifications.

A sleeper is someone being drafted outside the top 100 players. It is not a defense and never a kicker. That player should be expected to outperform their draft slot by multiple rounds. We aren’t helping anyone by saying the 105th ranked player should be going around pick 95. My sleepers start exactly at pick No. 100 (according to Fantasy Pros consensus ADP).

Jeremy Maclin, wide receiver, Baltimore Ravens

Todd Salem: Maclin used to be a highly sought after fantasy player. After disappointment and injury, those days are over. He is on his third team in four years. But now no one is giving him the time of day in drafts. With the dearth of receiving options in Baltimore, Maclin could flourish. We already know what he can do at full strength, and if Joe Flacco returns to huck the ball down the field to him, he could put up monster numbers. Maclin is going in the 10th or 11th round, but he could finish as a top 20 player at his position. He has that pedigree.

Tyrell Williams, wide receiver, Los Angeles Chargers

Todd Salem: Wide receiver is incredibly deep these days. Williams is going off the board as the 45th receiver, which is just insane. He is probably the number-one option on a potent offensive team with a Pro Bowl quarterback. I know Keenan Allen is ahead of Williams on the depth chart, but can we see Allen play one game (let alone a full season) before we can count on him? Meanwhile, all Williams did last year was haul in 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns in just 12 starts.

Jack Doyle, tight end, Indianapolis Colts

  • Atlanta Falcons: Injury report for Week 1 vs Bears4h ago
  • Jacksonville Jaguars: 3 Bold predictions vs Texans4h ago

Todd Salem: If you don’t grab one of the top few tight ends, wait on the position. And then keep waiting, and wait some more. There is little that will separate the fifth or sixth TE in the early to middle rounds and Doyle, the 13th TE, in the 14th round. In fact, Doyle may be better. In his first chance at major playing time last season, Doyle put up quality TE numbers. He finished 13th in fantasy points despite ranking 19th in targets. I’m interested to see what he can do with a year of that experience under his belt.

Don’t steal my sleepers. Who do you have your eye on in the later rounds of fantasy drafts? Anyone outside the top 100 strike your fancy?

Matthew Stafford, quarterback, Detroit Lions

Dan Salem: For those who agree that waiting on quarterbacks is a smart draft strategy, Stafford is a steal in the later rounds. He hasn’t missed a game since 2010 and has consistently put up big-time numbers. Since the Lions are not a great team, expect them to pass a lot in order to win. Stafford just became the richest player in NFL history and he’s earned it. Ranked as the 14th quarterback and 113 overall on average, he will perform like all but the top three players at his position. That’s a great sleeper pick for sure.

Philip Rivers, quarterback, Los Angeles Chargers

Dan Salem: I like Rivers for all of the same reasons that Stafford is a great sleeper pick. He is ranked just behind Stafford and plays for a dynamic offense in a division up for grabs. Enough about the quarterbacks, because they are greatly undervalued, especially in leagues that allow a quarterback as your flex player.

Sterling Shepard, wide receiver, New York Giants

Dan Salem: Shepard is going to be a boom or bust player this year, but if he booms then talk about a major sleeper pick. I don’t believe that Brandon Marshall is the force he once was, but he will certainly steal defensive attention away from Shepard. With Odell Beckham Jr. often getting two defenders, this leaves Shepard in favorable one on one matchups or loose zone coverage a lot.

He’s currently ranked 148th overall on average, but Shepard could easily explode into the upper tier of wide receivers. With Beckham battling an ankle injury, Eli Manning needs Shepard to continue improving upon his solid rookie year. He has sleeper written all over him.
